Terms of Service

Effective July 10, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Deciten, Toronto, Canada (“Gatherings”, “we”) for the Gatherings apps and gatheringsapp.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. Questions: legal@gatheringsapp.com.

1. Who can use Gatherings

You must be 16 or older. Individual events may set stricter admission policies (for example 19+), which are enforced at the venue — a Gatherings account does not guarantee entry to any event.

2. Your account

You sign in with Google or Apple. Keep your sign-in method secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings, which permanently erases your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. The service — and its beta

Gatherings connects people who are physically near real-world gatherings and layers shared music taste on top. Parts of the service are distributed as beta software (for example via Apple TestFlight or Google Play testing tracks). Beta versions are provided as is: features may change, break, or reset, and beta data may be wiped. We aim for — but do not promise — uninterrupted service.

4. Your content

Content you post in a gathering stays yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, display, and process it solely to operate the service — chiefly, showing it to the gathering you posted it in. Gatherings content is ephemeral by design: it is deleted automatically within 24 hours and cannot be recovered. Don't post anything you need a permanent copy of.

5. Rules of conduct

Gatherings has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Don't post or do anything that is: harassing, hateful, or threatening; sexually exploitative; violent or graphic; illegal or promoting illegal activity; spam or deceptive; or infringing someone else's rights (including posting other people's personal information or photos without consent). Don't attempt to identify, follow, or contact people who have chosen not to be visible. Don't interfere with the service (scraping, reverse engineering, abuse of rate limits).

6. Moderation, reporting, and blocking

Every piece of content can be reported in the app, and any user can be blocked. Reported content is reviewed by automated systems and humans; we may remove content, apply strikes, restrict features, or terminate accounts — immediately and without notice for serious violations. We may preserve content as required by law even after it is hidden from the app.

7. Music services

Connecting a music account (Spotify, Apple Music, or others) is optional and governed by that service's own terms. We read listening metadata to build your vibe profile; we do not control your playback or your account on those services. Gatherings is not affiliated with or endorsed by any music service.

8. Events (including the Pregame series)

Some gatherings are organized by us (for example PREGAME editions); most are organized by users or venues. Unless we explicitly say otherwise: we are not affiliated with the artists, venues, or promoters of any event a gathering relates to; concert or event tickets are your own responsibility; and door policies (age, ID, capacity) are set and enforced by the venue. Attend real-world events at your own judgment — celebrate responsibly.

9. Our property

The Gatherings apps, brand, and design are ours (or our licensors'). These terms don't grant you any rights in them beyond using the service.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts of other users or event organizers. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (currently: zero — Gatherings is free). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

11. Termination

You can stop using Gatherings and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections 4 and 9–12 survive termination.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Toronto, Ontario, unless mandatory consumer law in your place of residence provides otherwise.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll post changes here, update the date above, and announce material changes in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept them.
